IMPORTANT!!! This is a comparison of what we could do, and what studios that charge a lot, then sell you prints and products do. This is NOT what we normally do 🙂
“Dave, the other studio I’m thinking about going to is charging us $600 for the shoot, and we have to promise to spend $2000 on prints and products. What would THAT kind of money buy us if we went with you?”
Well, lets start by spending 600 on shoots, without requiring you to ever spend another dollar. Actually, this is hard to do, because no NORMAL combination of shoots costs anywhere near $600…..but let’s TRY.
Let’s do FIVE SEPARATE shoots, one on Lake Michigan, one at the Ledges in Grand Ledge, one local, country touring, one in the STUDIO and one Sunrise in the Water.
And for that, you’ll get TWO HUNDRED edited images.
For $600 we’re going to do FIVE SEPARATE SHOOTS, two of them out of town, and we’re going to give you TWO HUNDRED EDITED IMAGES with absolutely ZERO requirements for you to spend another dollar.
Now let’s TRY to spend the $2000 on prints and products. We recommend MPIX or BAYPHOTO, and wherever necessary, we’ll give you technical help ordering your prints.
First, we’ll do 16×24 prints, two of them, matted and framed…….$290
Then, we’ll do 8×12 prints, four of them, matted and framed…….$200
Then, we’ll do a huge 20×30 canvas print……………. $145
and a truly MASSIVE, wall filling 40×60 canvas print…… $483
so far, we’ve spent about $1100 of that 2k.
So, we’ll throw in the highest quality custom book ……10×10, layflat, 70 pages…… $120
maybe do THREE of those, so the grandparents can have a copy……..$360 total.
So now we’ve filled TWO HUGE walls with large prints and given everyone a book……and we have more than $500 left.
So we’ll FLY TO NEW YORK CITY and do ONE MORE SHOOT in TIMES SQUARE, and give you 50 more edited images.
That’s how big of a difference the costs are.
