Fine Art Book Project, “135 II”

In 2008, I started working primarily with the 135f1.8 portrait lens. Amazingly, almost no one else, anywhere, was using that focal length.

I compared it, side by side, with every other option, and felt it stood head and shoulders above the rest. I was so enamored of the lens, I created a MASSIVE book project, called “135,” in 2010, and I photographed 135 women for it. 145 total shoots.

It made quite a coffee table book….so BIG, a single copy cost $245. Last I knew, the great German Lensmaker Carl Zeiss, still had a copy in their corporate office.

For 2024, I’m going to make it’s sequel.

This time, I’m going to create 135 fabulous scenes, built around beautiful woman photographers/subjects.

Instead of packing all the shoots into a short period of time, I’m going to use all four seasons this year, and take the last few shoots in first snowfall next winter.

It’s going to take a LOT of help.
